Cake Pops

After making an 8" cake I found I had enough trimmings and buttercream to make about ten cake pops.
I went with the same colour scheme of pinks and covered them in daisies of all sizes, they went down really well with some Pimm's!

All Wrapped Up

This was a last minute request for a 70th birthday, it's an 8" vanilla and raspberry sponge with buttercream and decorated all wrapped up in a big bow with polka dots in a cerise pink and coral theme for £35.
Portion:  25 people.

Thank You

I find a little token gift when saying thank you is better than just a card, whether its for a birthday present, a surprise visit or just for feeding your fish... This is a vanilla cupcake with a raspberry middle topped with rolled white icing a a couple of daisies for a delicate finish, a lovely present once wrapped up with a bow.

Christening

I had a wonderfully busy Saturday getting ready for Lucy and Tom's christening on the Sunday.
I had free range on this cake as long as it included: teddy bear toppers, a layer for Lucy and a layer for Tom, the date and greeting!
On the inside the bottom layer was an almond and cherry cake with almond buttercream, the top layer was a 4 layer raspberry and vanilla sponge. This cake was priced at £65.

Bertie

This week we had a lovely sunny birthday party for little Bertie's first birthday, he had a 'Mr Tumble' inspired cake.
It was a light 4 layer vanilla sponge with a white chocolate buttercream, it was an 8" cake priced at £35.
Portion: 25 people.

Joseph George

My little man turned one this week and since we had a whole bunch of people over I decided to make a really huge Carrot Cake that was double depth feeding about 50.
Since rolled fondant really doesn't go well with cream cheese frosting I decorated it instead with hundreds and thousands and a bow with a large number one on top; and idea I saw a while ago on Pinterest. I have to say, the floor was covered in sprinkles by the time I was finished!
The little stick in the top is a sparkler since he's too tiny to blow out a candle.

House Warming Toffee

My sister is moving into her new home this week and toffee is a wonderful house warming present since it travels well and lasts a while.
This was a really easy recipe, literally butter, sugar and a little water all boiled down, that's all! Once poured into the pan, it's coated in chocolate and flaked almonds, yum!

Matilda Mabel

Welcome Matilda Mabel Burlinson!
Since there would be no christening cake, Mr&Mrs Burlinson wanted a 'welcome to the world' cake so it was a white iced fruit cake with navy ribbon and her name and birthday piped around the edge. Very simple and not too girly!
Portion: 25 people

Tom & Lucy

These are two matching cakes for a pair of twins that were turning 1, a girl called Lucy and a boy called Tom. I thought the shape of 1 was already quite a lot of detail so, no wanting to over do it, I simply added their names in building blocks, a few details and a bit of piping and off they went!

The flavours went down a great success, a raspberry vanilla sponge and a cherry & marzipan one, the latter was a new recipe for me which is always a worry but it turned out great, cooked with a thin layer of marzipan inside the cake mix!
